For the last month of my internship, I was given the chance to put my new skills to the test; I was given a client all of my own, overseen solely by the president of Danielides Communications. Meera Thompson, an abstract painter from New York, had a new exhibition of paintings opening on May 25, 2010 at Atlantic Gallery in Chelsea. As a personal friend of Joannie Danielides, Meera Thompson always uses Danielides Communications for consulting before the show and to promote her gallery openings. As such, I was placed in charge of finding relevant media placements to promote her new show. In tandem with this, I got the opportunity to preview the collection before it was framed, assist in what pieces were used in the collection, and to attend the gallery opening.
