EHE International is an alternative health care provider. For their client services, Danielides Communications is primarily responsible for booking, organizing, and maintaining a display window in Rockefeller Plaza on their behalf. Every month EHE International lends the window space to a different nonprofit health organization focused on preventative health measures.
In addition to sourcing prospective organizations for the window and coordinating their installations, Danielides Communications also handles the publicity for EHE International's annual Heart Health advocacy programs. Every February, in celebration of Heart Month, they sponsor an awareness campaign. To promote their message of women's heart health, they offer their female employees the opportunity to go on a glamorous photo shoot at a famous New York landmark if they agree to participate in a free heart exam and take advantage of the company's free health club membership program. As such, Danielides Communications orchestrates this photo shoot and then uses the photo as the centerpiece to promote the company's heart awareness campaign.
This was the first experience I received in pitching a story to the media. I collaborated with account executives in drafting press releases, wrote my own pitches, and handled all the communication between the journalists and the client, arranging interviews, and providing information as needed. I was successful in obtaining several print placements on my own and got to accompany the client to a segment on the CBS Early Show. In collaboration with my three teammates, we were able to secure a total of 23 media placements and 4,852,149,152 media impressions.

In addition to working on their heart awareness campaign, I was primarily responsible for finding new organizations to fill the window space in Rockefeller Plaza. Over the seven months I was with Danielides Communications, I worked with a variety of different health organizations including the Histiocytosis Association of America, Alzheimer Association, Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis, S.I.E./Lupus Foundation, SHADE Foundation of America, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, and the National Parkinson Foundation.
